I was one of the first people EVER who could solve it!

I was a tool designer at Ideal Toy in 1980, when we got this cool new puzzle to produce. My job was to figure out how we were going to apply the colors. I had an early version on my desk I played with, and another one in pieces. Somebody had the solution written out and I memorized it. Only a few of us bothered. Nobody dreamed of the sensation it would become. It was just a clever puzzle. We also made the games Operation, Mousetrap, Toss Across, and a few others you might remember.

As a designer at Ideal Toy, I had the cube AND the solution before almost anyone in the world had heard of it.

Long long ago, BEFORE those blindfolded wizz kids could solve the cube as fast as lightning, I could solve that damned cube!

In fact, I'm the guy that got those colors on the cube in the first place.
