Weddings and Events

I am happy and pleased to offer my services to those having any type of a party or affair where Classical Guitar would be welcome. The intimate beauty of the instrument is not suited to very large or boisterous events where a BIG SOUND is wanted, nor to events where it is desired that the guests "get down and boogie". The instrument is suited to smaller venues and groups, where a mellow and beautiful sound is appropriate. If you wish your guests and yourself to be able to converse and not have the music dominate, then you should consider what I offer. My sound will enhance, it will not disturb or monopolize. My sound system allows me to control my volume to fit the size of the venue, however the Classical Guitar is a flower - not a forest. Please bear this in mind when planning an event.

If experience counts, I've been doing this a long time. Same guitarist, 30 years apart.

As I am a solo performer, your dollars go a long way as you are not paying multiple players. I am very cost effective, compared with larger ensembles and you will find the fee for my service to be very competitive. I normally charge a flat fee regardless of the time involved, in most cases. Exceptions are if there is long-distance travel required, or if the event will last many hours beyond the usual, or if it is much shorter than the usual. In such cases I will make adjustments either up or down in my price. I am available for the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception. If you decide to include me for just the ceremony or cocktail hour - as you might have a larger band or DJ for the reception, the fee for my service is lower in such cases.

Call me to discuss: 917 539 6763 or email me at marc@marcfriedlander.com to start planning, and I will make the music part of your event truly memorable!

I now live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, having moved recently from New York City. I can also serve Santa Fe and surrounding cities and towns, provided the travel distance is reasonable.

Repertoire

Below is a list of many of the pieces I am able to perform, although I don't always keep this list up to the minute. The list is always changing because I am always developing new material. Sometimes I add pieces to my active repertoire, and other times I stop practicing pieces that I've been playing, to make room for new pieces.

If there is a very special piece you would like me to play, please let me know and if I am able, I will add it to my active performance pieces just for your event (I will try but I cannot guarantee it).

Some of the pieces have sound files attached, so if you click on the title of the piece you will hear a short preview. This will give you an idea of my sound and style of playing.
